Down Time for Server Upgrade
Ok guys, we had a major hardware failure tonight. The hard drive decided it wasn't going to spin anymore. I'm sure most of you have been experiencing this problem for the past few days as I tried to figure out what was wrong. Well tonight it decided to tell me plain as day.
Sherri: After the server froze like it has been for the past few days, I rebooted it as normal to bring it back online. In doing so, the hard drive decided it was going to go crazy, then stop.
Sherri: We have backups, so no worries. They are 44 days old however.
Sherri: Just kidding, we were able to get a recent backup. I pulled the drive and docked it and am painfully removing the data from it.
Sherri: I was able to pull all data however, so we will have a recent backup when the server comes back online. The plan was to migrate to a new server I picked up recently which is roughly triple the speed of the current. So this is a great time to do the migration.
